Question about taking the promotion at work or staying put

Had to decide between a team lead role at the Austin office or keeping my current spot. I turned it down. Everyone said I was crazy passing up the money. But Friday at 5pm I clock out and don't think about work until Monday. No meetings. No managing people. Has anyone else picked the lower pressure option and actually been happier?

Don't you sleep better at night knowing that? I passed on management too and my stress levels dropped like crazy. Peace of mind beats a fancy title EVERY time.
