Warning: I spent two full days planning a birthday party for my cat

Last month, I decided to throw a little party for my cat's 5th birthday. I made a guest list for my other two cats, planned a menu of three different fancy wet foods, and even looked up cat-safe cake recipes. My friend finally asked me if I was okay, and I realized I had spent more time on this than my own birthday. Has anyone else gone this deep on something totally silly?

Saw a study once about how pets can lower stress, @the_john. They're not just animals, they're part of the family for a lot of people. Calling it "just a cat" really misses the mark.

Hold up, you made a GUEST LIST for your other cats? Like they were gonna send regrets if they had a prior nap scheduled? That's next level, I love it. Honestly, planning the party sounds way more fun than most adult stuff we have to do. Don't even worry about it.
