Went to a printing shop and found out I've been setting up margins wrong for years
I was at Kinko's last Tuesday getting flyers printed and the guy behind the counter (Dave, I think his name was) asked why my left margin was 2 inches. Turns out I've been setting up margins like I'm still using a typewriter from the 80s. He showed me how to do proper print margins in 5 minutes. Has anyone else had a basic skill they thought they had down but were totally doing wrong?

Push back on that. I set my margins at 1.5 inches on the left and I'm not changing. My printer eats paper if I go any closer to the edge and I've lost too many hours fighting with jammed inkjets. Plus I like having room to staple or hole punch without eating into text. Dave from Kinkos probably showed you standard stuff but some of us got burned before. Your margins work for you until they don't.

@willow_martin my printer would probably just give up and cry if I tried that.
