A customer at my shop on 6th Street said something I can't forget

Last Tuesday, a man came in looking for a specific part for an old tractor. When I told him I could order it, he shook his head and said, 'If I wanted to wait, I'd just click a button. I came here because you're here.' It happened right by the front counter. That simple statement made me realize our real value isn't just inventory, it's being present. Has anyone else had a customer point out something so obvious you almost missed it?

But what if he just didn't want to pay for shipping?

Look, shipping costs are part of buying things online. If someone can't afford the shipping, they probably can't afford the thing itself. It's a basic cost of getting stuff sent to your door. Calling it a scam just because you don't like a fee is a stretch. The seller has to pack it and take it to the post office, that's work. Not wanting to pay for that service is just being cheap.
