Chatted up the owner at Floyd's Barber Shop on 6th last Friday

He told me he switched to a cash only system about 8 months ago. Said the credit card fees were eating up 3% of every haircut. That adds up fast when you do 30 cuts a day. He puts up a sign and people just hit the ATM down the block. I never thought about how much those fees hit small shops. Got me wondering what other hidden costs small business owners just accept. Anyone here ditch card processors and see savings?

It makes you realize how many little cuts small operations take from every angle. Credit card fees are just the obvious one, but there's also the cost of those point of sale systems that need constant updates, or the monthly fees just to have a terminal sit on the counter. These days it feels like every business is getting nickeled and dimed by something that didn't even exist 20 years ago, all to make things "convenient" for customers. Have you noticed any other quiet expenses like that popping up lately?

Saw a piece saying delivery app fees now eat like 30% of every order, wild.
