Found a cheap way to advertise on Nextdoor that actually brought in customers
I run a small landscaping business here in Amarillo and was dumping $200 a month into Facebook ads with barely any calls. Last week I tried posting in my local Nextdoor neighborhood group offering a free 15 minute consultation for yard cleanup. Three people messaged me within 2 hours and two turned into paying jobs worth $450 total. Has anyone else tried this approach or found something similar that worked better?

free 15 minute consultation" just sounds like free labor to me.

Why do people think your time and expertise isn't worth anything? I've seen so many "free intros" turn into 45 minutes of someone grilling you like you're already on the clock. It's like they think the second you agree to that free window, you're fair game for their whole shopping list of questions. I get that they want to see if you're a good fit, but it usually ends up with you working for free and them walking away with your best advice.
