I used to think the new place on 6th was just another coffee shop

Stopped in at that new spot, The Daily Grind, on 6th Street last Friday morning. I was just grabbing a quick coffee before a job, but I ended up staying for almost an hour. What got me was the back wall. They have this huge, detailed map of Amarillo with little pins and notes from other local businesses, like the hardware store on Georgia and the print shop over on Polk. It's not just decor. The owner, a guy named Mark, came over and explained he wants it to be a hub for local owners to connect, not just a place to sell lattes. He even mentioned hosting a 'meet your neighbor' night for service trades next month. I always figured these new places were just in it for themselves, but this felt different. Has anyone else been in and talked to him about this network idea?

Are you serious about the hardware store? That place is so normal, I bought a shovel there last fall. This whole thing is way bigger than I thought.
