Our bucket truck threw a hydraulic line Tuesday morning at 7am on 45th street

I was heading to trim a big cottonwood for a client near downtown when I heard this pop and saw fluid spraying everywhere. Pulled into a parking lot and called my buddy who runs a mobile hydraulic repair shop out of Canyon. He was there in 45 minutes and got it patched up enough to get me back to the shop, but it cost me $680 and I lost half the day. Has anyone else had a sudden equipment failure that just messed up your whole schedule like that?

Honestly my old Dodge diesel blew a high pressure oil line right as I was pulling onto a customer's driveway last fall. Lost all my oil in about 10 seconds flat. I had a spare line and a jug of oil in the truck bed from the last time I had issues, so I swapped it out right there on the street in 30 minutes. Cost me about 60 bucks for the line and another 40 for the oil. Still lost the whole morning though because I had to clean up the mess and wait for the new oil to settle before I could start it back up.

Man, hydraulic leaks are brutal! I once had my skid steer dump all its fluid right in the middle of a job. Looked like a coffee shop spill in the parking lot. Cost me $400 and two days of cussing at it. Makes you feel like a real pro when you're standing there watching your paycheck leak onto the asphalt.
