Overheard a lady at United saying my prices were too high for Amarillo
Was grabbing coffee at United on Georgia last week and heard this woman tell her friend my landscaping quotes were ridiculous compared to some guy she found on Facebook for half the cost. I get that this town's a small market where everyone wants a bargain, but I've been at this for 8 years and use commercial grade stuff from Lowe's, not junk from a garage sale. How do you handle explaining your pricing to folks here without coming off as rude or greedy?

People always want cheap stuff but then complain when it falls apart.

Used to be on the other side of this... always went for the cheapest guy on Craigslist or whatever. Then I hired some kid to paint my fence for half what the pros wanted. He used that watery Behr paint and it was peeling in six months. Had to pay double to get it scraped and redone right. Now I get why you charge what you do. Low price usually means low quality materials or the guy cutting corners on insurance or something. People don't see the long term until they're stuck with a mess.
