Rant: Found out my business electricity rates jumped 40% and I didn't even notice

Was going through my quarterly bills last night and spotted a rate hike I somehow missed for the last 6 months. My shop on 34th Street went from paying around $350 a month to over $490. Called Amarillo Electric and they said the rate changed back in January but the notice went to my spam folder. Anybody else catch a sneaky price increase like this from a utility or vendor lately?

Saw a piece about this on a local business blog last week, said utilities are doing this more often with commercial accounts now. Makes me want to check my own rates more carefully.

Ehh, checking your rates more carefully usually just means they'll find some fine print to squeeze you harder. Better to just not poke the bear and hope they forget about you.
