Switched from QuickBooks to a local bookkeeper last month in Amarillo
I used to do all my own books on QuickBooks for my shop on Georgia Street. After 3 years of messing up sales tax, I finally hired a lady who runs a bookkeeping service out of her house on Bell Street. Has anyone else found a local bookkeeper who actually knows the Texas small business exemptions?

That bookkeeper on Bell Street - does she actually handle the Texas franchise tax exemption for businesses under $1.23M in revenue? I ran into that issue last year when my old guy didn't know about the no-filing requirement for small sole proprietorships. He filed a zero-dollar return anyway and I got a nasty letter from the comptroller.
