That one customer who paid in wrinkled ones back in 2018

I had this older guy come into my pest control office with a shoebox full of one dollar bills, mustve been about 400 bucks. He said he saved them up for six months just to pay for his termite treatment. He told me straight up "I dont trust banks or credit cards, but I trust you to do the job right." Made me realize how much trust it takes for some people to hand over their hard saved money. Anyone else have a customer who paid in an unusual way that stuck with you?

Honestly that kind of thing sticks with you. It's wild how some people put so much trust in a person they barely know over a system they've seen fail them. Ngl it makes me think about how we're all just out here trying to figure out who to trust with our time and money every single day. There's something real about cash transactions that just feels different from tapping a card or clicking a button. Reminds me that a lot of what we do is built on little moments of faith between strangers.
