Used to hand out paper punch cards at my store on 6th, switched to a text loyalty thing 8 months ago
For about 4 years I ran a punch card deal at my little shop on 6th Ave, buy 9 get 1 free, and I was printing new cards every couple weeks because people lost them or they got wet. 8 months ago I switched to a text club with a code, and signups went from maybe 15 a month to 60, mostly because I just ask at the register and it takes 10 seconds. The part that surprised me is people actually come back more now, I think because the reminder hits their phone instead of sitting in a junk drawer. Only downside is a few regulars in their 70s still want the card, so I keep a small stack behind the counter for them. Anyone else mixing old and new ways to keep customers coming back, or did you just pick one?
