Why does every new coffee shop in Amarillo use the same supplier for their pastries?

I went to three different spots last week and all their croissants tasted identical, which makes me wonder if anyone's actually checking the wholesale bakery options around here instead of just going with the cheapest one.

Honestly it drives me crazy how everything in this town is starting to feel copy-pasted like that. It's not even just coffee shops, I notice the same thing with those food truck vendors and boutique stores all carrying the same candles and soap. Everybody's so scared of taking a risk or standing out that they just go with whatever supplier's cheapest and easiest. Tbh it makes the whole "support local" thing feel kind of hollow when everything tastes and looks the same anyway.
