A stranger at a con in Atlanta ruined filler arcs for me

Tbh I was defending a filler arc in a panel line when this random guy behind me said 'you know the manga pacing is better, right?' and walked off. He never explained why, but now I skip most filler and I actually enjoy the seasonal stuff more. Has anyone else had a one-liner from a stranger totally flip how they watch?
