Appreciation post: Spending $80 on a Crunchyroll subscription vs buying the same show on disc

Last year I dropped $80 on a year of Crunchyroll and got tons of shows, but now half of them have rotating licenses and my favorites are gone. On the flip side, buying a single season box set costs about that much and you actually keep it. Which side do you lean on for reliability?

Streaming services got people paying monthly for stuff they don't even own. Once you stop paying, you lose everything. With a disc you can watch it whenever, sell it later, or loan it to a buddy.
