Debate: Were anime forums better for discussions than social media is today?
I used to log into anime forums daily, where threads could last for weeks with fans writing long, thoughtful posts. Now, conversations happen on Twitter or Discord, with quick messages that come and go fast. Some say forums let us build real connections and dive deep into shows. Others think social media is better because it's easy for anyone to join and share instantly. I miss the detailed talks from back then, but I also like how fast I can get a reaction now. What do you all think? Which way of talking about anime do you prefer and why?

Forums were way better for actual discussion. You had dedicated threads that stayed on topic for weeks, not just hot takes that vanish in an hour. The slower pace meant people actually read your post and gave a real reply. Social media is just noise for the most part, impossible to have a deep chat.

Totally get what @gavinh58 is saying. I still hop on niche forums when I want real talk, not just likes. The key is finding spots where people care about the topic, not just clout.
