Finally finished my first 90s anime watchlist challenge

Tbh I set this goal back in January to watch 50 classic anime from the 90s by the end of the year. I thought it would be easy since I grew up on stuff like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. But man, I underestimated how many shows I missed like Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop. I just hit number 50 yesterday with Trigun and honestly I feel kinda proud. I learned that the older animation styles have a charm that new shows don't always capture. The pacing is slower but the stories feel more grounded. Has anyone else here tried a decade-specific watch challenge and found a show that surprised you?

Hmm, which of the 50 surprised you the most in terms of how well it held up versus what you expected from the hype? That transition from DBZ to Cowboy Bebop is a big jump in tone, always curious which one sticks with people more. The slower pacing thing is real, but some of those shows also had filler arcs that were brutal even back then.

Honestly, I don't even know if the hype around some of these shows was all that serious to begin with. Like, people act like Cowboy Bebop is this deep life changing thing and it's just a cool space show with good music. It's fine, but chill, it's really not that deep.
