Had to pick between subbing or dubbing a show I really like

I sat down last weekend to finally start Attack on Titan after a friend bugged me for months. I'm usually a sub guy for most shows, but this one felt like a big deal with all the action. I watched the first episode in sub and the second in dub to really compare. The dub voices actually didn't sound terrible, but the sub just felt more intense with the screaming and emotion. I went with sub all the way through episode 12, then my internet went out for two days and I could only stream the dub. Now I'm weirdly attached to both versions. Has anyone else ended up switching halfway through a series because of something dumb like that?

Did you find that the switching actually changed how you saw certain characters or scenes? I had a similar thing with Fullmetal Alchemist where I started sub, then the dub grew on me after a power outage, and now I can't decide which version of Hughes's death hits harder. It's strange how the brain just adapts and forms new connections to the voices you hear first in a crisis.
