I used to just watch anime alone, now I always check the episode discussion threads

For years, I'd finish an episode of something like Spy x Family and just move on. About 6 months ago, I started reading the weekly discussion posts on the anime subreddit after each new episode. It completely changed the experience. I noticed jokes and foreshadowing I missed, like a background detail in episode 12 that hinted at a later plot point. Now I make it a routine to read the top 20 or so comments right after watching. It feels like having a watch party with hundreds of people. Does anyone else have a specific forum or site they check for discussions right after a new episode drops?

I tried reading those Spy x Family threads once and got spoiled on a major twist in the comments. Now I avoid them until the season ends.

The internet's favorite pastime is spoiling things for people.

I started reading the Spy x Family threads around episode 18... that's when I saw someone point out the shop names in the background were all dog breeds. I never would have caught that. But @gonzalez.grant has a point about spoilers. How do you guys time it? I try to watch the episode the day it drops and read the thread right after, but sometimes a top comment will just flat out mention a manga event. Do you skip threads for certain shows you really care about?
