I was looking up the original run of 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' and found out it only aired 26 episodes in 1995.

I always thought it was a longer series, but I saw that fact on a wiki page about classic anime broadcast schedules, and it made me wonder what other shows from that era had surprisingly short runs.

Honestly, that's a solid point. Look at Cowboy Bebop, it's a total classic and it only had 26 episodes too. Same with Trigun, that was just 26. It's wild how many of the shows we think of as huge from back then actually had really tight stories. Makes you respect how much they packed into a single season.

Yeah, read an article about that exact thing.

Read that Trigun fact and it hit me funny because I spent years thinking I had just missed half the episodes due to bad TV reception as a kid. Turns out I was just bad at paying attention, not missing content. Blew my mind when I learned Gungrave only had 26 episodes too, felt like that show crammed a whole lifetime into a single season. Makes me wonder how many of these classic shows I misremembered as being longer just because my attention span was short.
