Shoutout to the person who said to sort by 'controversial' on big anime takes
I was trying to find good threads on the new season's shows and kept seeing the same popular opinions. I sorted by controversial on a big forum post and found a bunch of detailed, weird arguments about animation styles from 2005. Has anyone else found a better way to dig past the surface level talk?

Honestly that controversial sort trick is a lifesaver for real discussion. Tried it on a thread about classic mecha shows and found people actually debating the merits of different studio's in-between animation instead of just posting memes. The regular top comments are always some variation of "this slaps" or "mid" with zero detail. Sometimes I'll search for specific technical terms like "key animation" or "storyboard" to find the nerds actually breaking things down.

That trick really does filter out the low effort noise. It's like the algorithm's default settings are designed to bury anything requiring more than two brain cells. Makes you wonder what else we're missing by just scrolling past the top comments.
