Spent 4 hours fixing a sub that worked fine after a hard reset. Router config was the issue the whole time.

Fixed after a hard reset" makes me think most problems today just need a full system restart including our own lives sometimes.

Fixed after a hard reset" is exactly what tech support wants you to believe so they can log off at 5pm. But yeah, router configs are the new demons in the machine. Spend hours chasing ghosts, then it's just one setting buried three menus deep. Classic. At least you got it working though, that's more than most of us can say about half our devices.

You mentioned "one setting buried three menus deep" and that really hit home. I've got a router where the port forwarding is nested under "Advanced" then something called "NAT/Gaming" even though it's just for my printer. Did you ever figure out if yours was a DHCP lease conflict or just wonky firewall rules? Because I swear the same ghost came back two weeks later and I'm still not sure I actually fixed it, just scared it away for a bit.
