Spent $80 on a specific anime streaming service for one show

I really wanted to watch the new season of a show that wasn't on my usual apps, so I signed up for a different service just for that. It ended up being a huge waste because the show's release schedule was super slow, and I finished it in a month but paid for three. Has anyone else felt burned by subscribing to a platform for just one series?

The calendar reminder is a good idea, but I mean, you can usually cancel right away and still get the full month you paid for.

My cousin did that for a single reality show on a sports streaming package... it felt like paying for a whole cable bundle again just to get the one channel you actually want. These services are counting on that exact trap, where the hassle of canceling after one month makes you keep paying. I started putting a calendar reminder to cancel on the same day I sign up for anything new.
