Started a rewatch of an old anime I loved as a teen and now I hate it

I tried watching Inuyasha again last week because I remembered it being so deep and emotional when I was 14. But now the pacing feels super slow and Kagome screams way too much for my liking. I made it through 6 episodes before I had to stop. Has anyone else gone back to a childhood favorite and been totally let down?

Buddy of mine tried to rewatch Dragon Ball Z last year because he swore it was the greatest show ever. He got about 15 episodes in before he started complaining about how every fight takes 20 episodes and Goku spends half the time just screaming. Now he says the only good part about it was the nostalgia goggles he was wearing back then. Some stuff is just better left in the memory, I guess.

Yeah "nostalgia goggles" is exactly right @richard_sanchez43. I used to swear Cardcaptor Sakura was the best written thing ever, but now I can't get past how much filler and repetitive monster-of-the-week stuff there is. You're probably right, some things are just better as a memory.
