Switched from subbed to dubbed after 9 years, now I can't go back to reading fast enough

I mean, I used to be one of those people who swore subs were the only way to watch. Around 2015 I was in Columbus for a job thing and had a marathon weekend with a friend who only watched dubs. She put on a show called Mob Psycho 100 and I just kinda gave in because I was too tired to read. Now I've watched like 30 dubs in the past two months and honestly, I miss details I never caught before. Has anyone else flipped sides this hard, or am I the weird one here?

Joined the dark side about two years ago after a bad concussion left me too dizzy to read subtitles. Now I catch so much more of the background animation and voice acting that I straight up missed before. My wife still watches subs and we have to take turns picking shows now, which is honestly fine because we just rewatch stuff together. I get the whole "purist" thing, I used to say the same stuff, but my eyes just don't keep up like they used to after long work days. Dubs have gotten way better than they were in the 2000s too, so it's not like we're missing some huge quality gap anymore. Take it from me, once you flip you really can't flip back.
