That 3 AM dub debate with my cousin in Chicago

My cousin swore the sub was better, I said the dub was fine for watching while I ate. Then he made me sit through episode 12 in both versions, and I caught a line delivery that changed the whole scene's meaning. He was right, and it was in 2019 at his apartment on Milwaukee Ave. Anyone else have a moment where someone forced you to see anime differently?
