That time a reddit comment made me stop over-analyzing shows
I used to pause every episode to look up lore on the wiki, took like 40 minutes for a 20 minute episode. Some user in the r/anime weekly thread said try blind watching season 2 of something and I thought they were crazy. So I did that with Owarimonogatari last month and honestly it clicked way better than when I had all the spoilers. Has anyone else found a show better when you just let it wash over you without reading discussions first?
let it wash over you" is exactly it. I read this interview with a TV writer once who said she never reads fan theories while her own show is airing because it messes with her head, and that stuck with me. If the person making it can't handle all the outside noise, maybe I don't need to either. I did the same thing with season 2 of a show last year where I skipped the weekly threads and just watched, and I caught way more small stuff on my own. The wiki pauses were killing the mood honestly, you lose the flow when you stop every five minutes. Some shows are built for that deep dive but most just want you to sit there and feel it.
