That time Berserk 2016 killed my watch party in 10 minutes

I invited three buddies over to my place in Denver to binge Berserk for the first time. I hyped it up as this legendary dark fantasy, popped in the 2016 version because I thought newer meant better. Ten minutes in, the CGI was so janky my buddy Mark literally asked if this was a fan project. We switched to the 1997 version instead and everyone was locked in for 4 hours straight. Anyone else almost ruin a first impression with the wrong adaptation?

I read somewhere the 2016 CGI was so bad even the voice actors couldn’t save it.

Is it just me or does everything feel rushed now? Movies get pushed out half-finished, apps drop updates that break more than they fix, even restaurants serve you food that looks like it was thrown together in 30 seconds. Feels like nobody wants to take the time to get it right anymore.
