Vent: Dropped my whole anime watchlist after missing episode 12
I was halfway through a 24-episode series I'd been following weekly for three months. Then my streaming service glitched and lost my progress, so I couldn't remember where I left off. I tried skimming through episodes to find the right spot but ended up watching the same scene three times. Gave up and started a completely different show from the 90s instead. Has anyone else had a streaming crash mess up their whole viewing schedule?

Oh man, that's brutal. But honestly, I think you might have dodged a bullet without knowing it. Have you ever rewatched a show you loved only to realize the second time around it's actually kind of a slog? Sometimes that forced distraction saves you from grinding through something that was gonna lose steam anyway. I had the same thing happen with a big space opera series, lost my place at episode 17, and when I finally came back a year later I realized the last few episodes were honestly pretty weak. The glitch might have just saved you from three wasted weeks of "well, I have to finish it now" syndrome.

Lol yeah honestly the sunk cost fallacy is real with these long shows. I got stuck halfway through a fantasy series about dragons once and made myself finish all 10 seasons out of pure stubbornness. By the end I was literally hate-watching it while scrolling my phone. The glitch was doing you a favor, you just didn't know it yet. Sometimes you gotta accept that your time is worth more than seeing how a show ends.
