Appreciation post: the $180 Silky pole saw that finally saved my shoulder on a black walnut
I picked up a Silky Hayauchi pole saw about two seasons back for right around $180, and I was honestly not sure I would get my value out of it. Last month I was deadwooding a big black walnut in a customer's backyard in Lexington, and that thing let me reach limbs I used to climb for, from the ground, with way less wear on my shoulder. I did have one scare where the head got pinched on a back cut and I had to walk the pole back down slow, no damage but a lesson learned. Curious what blade everyone runs once the factory one dulls out, because that swap is coming up soon for me.
