Counted 214 rings on a white oak stump in Akron and it hit me hard
I did a removal on a big white oak in Akron last week and counted the rings on the stump before we chipped it. 214 years old. The homeowner said her family bought the place in 1958 and that tree was already huge back then. I stood there doing the math on what that tree lived through, storms, droughts, the whole city growing up around it. Do you guys ever stop and think about the age of what we take down, or do you just move on to the next job?
