Finally figured out why my hinge cuts kept tearing out on live oak removals
Spent two weekends fighting a 36 inch live oak in Roanoke where every notch tear-out was costing me 15 minutes of cleanup, then a retired climber at the supply shop told me to stop using my sharp 3/8 chain and drop down to a semi-chisel with the rakers filed way down, and it cut so clean I finished the back cut in one pass, has anyone else messed with raker height for hinge wood or am I just late to this?
