That time I used a zip tie to mark a bad branch during a storm cleanup

We were clearing a big maple in Portland after the ice storm, and I kept losing track of a cracked limb in the canopy mess. I looped a bright orange zip tie around it as a visual tag, and it saved me a bunch of time climbing back up. Anyone have a better method for quick canopy markers?

Smart move with the zip tie. I've used surveyor's tape for the same thing.

Zip ties work fine but they're hard to see from the ground once you're back down. Next time try spray marking paint in bright orange, one quick dot on the branch and you can spot it from anywhere. Just shake the can good first or the nozzle clogs up.
