Got a surprise from a 3D scan of my grandma's old farm site
I ran a basic ground survey on a family plot in Ohio last spring, just hoping to find where the barn used to be. The magnetometer picked up a weird circular anomaly, and after digging a test pit I found a stone ring about 6 feet across. Turns out it was a small hearth, probably from the 1880s, not anything on the old maps. I learned that satellite imagery and old deeds can miss the stuff that's right under your feet. Anyone else hit something unexpected that rewrote their site history?
