My recent mess trying to look up an old shipwreck find online

I got really into this local story about a colonial-era shipwreck, but when I went to find the official dig notes, the museum's website was a jumbled mess of PDFs with no search function. I spent hours clicking through folders with vague names like 'Site A 1998' and gave up after finding nothing clear. It seems crazy that such cool info is locked away in a digital closet. How do you guys track down details on finds without losing your mind?

Those obscure hobbyist forums are WEIRD treasure troves for this stuff.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve dug up there?

Ever find something that makes you question the whole internet? I was deep in some old forum archive and found a thread where people were swapping stories about lost USB drives they found. One guy described finding a drive with nothing on it but corrupted files and a single text document that just said "you weren't supposed to see this." He managed to recover a short video clip of what looked like an empty room with a flickering light. That stuff sticks with you. What about you, find anything truly off putting?
