My sample mix-up threw off our site dating
I confused two soil samples from separate layers, and now the dates are inaccurate. Any advice on better labeling methods?

That photo log idea is smart. Do you keep the photos just on your phone or do you back them up somewhere specific right away?

Back in grad school, we had this project where someone mixed up pollen samples from different peat layers, and it messed up the climate timeline for months. The thing is, they were using those tiny stickers that just fell off in the damp. So now I'm a big believer in writing directly on the sample container with industrial sharpie, plus a photo log on your phone.
