Serious question, skipped the field survey grid at a site near Tucson and got roasted by my old professor
I had one weekend to dig at a rockshelter outside Tucson and had to pick between doing a proper 1 meter grid survey or just digging a quick test pit where the lithics were poking out of the dirt. I went with the test pit because my permit was about to expire, and now half the artifact depth data is basically useless since I can't tie it back to a provenience. Did I just waste a whole permit, or has anyone else recovered from a one-unit dig like this?
