Spent 3 years labeling my site grids in the field before a surveyor in Tucson flipped it on me
I always wrote the coordinates straight onto the bag after a dig, then a surveyor out in Tucson asked why I wasn't marking the datum point on the bag itself before anything else. Turns out my labels were drifting by about 15 cm across a whole season because I was matching them to the wrong corner every time. How does everyone else handle labeling on a multi-week site, do you tag the bag first or the find first?
