That week in June at the Mesa Verde dig site where we found three intact pots in one day

I was just scraping along a test pit wall on a Tuesday when my trowel hit something solid, and by Friday we had pulled out three complete black-on-white vessels from the same midden layer, which never happens because usually you're lucky to find one good sherd in a month of sifting, so did you ever have a run like that where the site just handed you everything?

Huh, I mean it's cool you found some pots and all but is this really that big of a deal? lol. People find old stuff in the ground all the time, right? Like, my buddy found a 1950s coke bottle in his backyard last week and he wasn't writing a novel about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you had a good week at work, but three pots in a week doesn't exactly sound like an archaeological miracle.

Joel, I get where you're coming from, but I think you might be missing the bigger picture here. Finding three intact pots from a specific historical period in one week is actually pretty rare, especially if they're from a time or culture we don't have a lot of records for. It's not just about the objects themselves, but what they can tell us about how people lived, traded, or worked back then.

Right? Last summer I dug up a whole clay pipe but nobody cared. Three pots is legit impressive.
