Thought carbon dating was overhyped until I saw the results from our backyard find
I always figured it was just guesswork, but seeing how it showed the age of those bones changed my view. Now I get why archaeologists rely on it, lol.

I read about a mammoth tusk they carbon dated in Alaska last year, it came back at 28,000 years old. The science is pretty solid because it measures the decay of a specific carbon isotope at a known rate. It's not a guess when you can track a clock that ticks that slowly and that reliably. What did you find in your backyard that got tested?
