Got 12 of 12 granny squares to actually match, and it was all about the hook size
Been crocheting for 3 years and never counted my stitches until now. My mom taught me to crochet in her kitchen in Boise. She always said go with the flow. So I did.
Made a baby blanket in July for my cousin. Was so proud of it. Then washed it and it turned into a wavy mess. Counted afterward and my last row had 94 stitches when it should have been 80.
Turns out one extra stitch per row adds up. 14 rows of that and your blanket looks like a curtain.
This time I kept a sticky note with the count for each row. Stopped every 4 rows to recount. Started and ripped back once when I hit 82 instead of 80. Took way longer.
But all 12 squares came out the same size. First time ever.
Anyone here use stitch markers just for counting? I cant stand counting in my head while watching TV.
