Spent 4 hours painting a mini and the face looked flat until I switched to a size 0 brush
I was painting a D&D dwarf mini for my buddy's campaign in my garage in Tacoma and kept wondering why the eyes and beard looked like mud. A guy at my local game store watched me for a second and said "you're loading a size 2 like it's a wall roller, of course it's blobby." Swapped to a size 0 with just a tiny bit of water and suddenly the highlights sat where I put them instead of spreading everywhere. I went back and redid the whole face in about 20 minutes and it looked better than the first pass did in an hour. What size brush do you all use for faces, and do you thin your paint more for detail work or just use less on the tip?
