I spent 11 years folding my t-shirts the wrong way in my dresser
Last week I was putting laundry away and my drawer wouldn't close because everything was stacked flat. My wife walked by and said, "Why don't you file them upright like the store does?" I tried it and suddenly I could see every shirt at once without digging. Same 32 shirts now fit with room left over. How do you all store your shirts, upright or stacked flat?
Did you ever think about how much time you wasted digging through that flat stack? I had the same setup for years, just piled them shoulder to shoulder and always grabbed the same five on top. My sister told me to try the upright thing and I fought it for months because it looked weird. Finally tried it on a small drawer of work shirts and it was like a switch flipped, I could actually see the gray one I wanted without pulling out half the pile. Now the whole dresser is done that way and I even roll my socks to fill the gaps. The only catch is you have to fold them a little tighter so they stand up, but it takes the same time once you get the hang of it.
