Just had a whole shelving unit collapse in my garage because I trusted those plastic clips

I was trying to grab a can of paint in my garage in Phoenix and the entire metal shelf came down around me because those little plastic locking clips snapped after holding maybe 60 pounds each for 10 months - what do you use instead that actually holds up?

Yeah my dad always said zip ties are just temporary no matter what the package says.
