Picked the 6am bus over the 9am train to Chicago, big mistake

Thought I'd save 20 bucks and beat the crowd, but the bus hit construction outside Gary and then the AC died. Took 7 hours total, the train would've been 4. Has anyone else gambled on the cheap route and lost worse than this?

That 20 bucks you saved probably went straight into gas money for the detour stop.
