That $60 gym membership contract I signed on impulse still stings

I signed up for a 12-month deal at a fitness center near my place in Phoenix and bailed after 3 weeks, losing 60 bucks in cancellation fees and the initial fee. Has anyone else paid more to quit a gym than they actually used it?

Sixty bucks is basically two trips to the grocery store these days, so that math doesn't hurt me as much as the principle. But real talk, you probably saved yourself from six more months of guilt trips every time you drove past that place. My gym charged a "processing fee" just to cancel my free trial, which felt dumber, but I still think about it less than the time I paid for a whole year of yoga I never stepped into. Take the L, block the auto-renew, and move on.
