That Wednesday my laptop bag smelled like a seafood boil for 6 hours
I had a shrimp po'boy for lunch and then ran to a 2pm meeting across town in Austin. Halfway there I realized my bag had a leaky sauce packet from the takeout, and the whole thing soaked my keyboard. The meeting was with a big client, and every time I typed, the keys squished and the room smelled like Old Bay. I tried to play it cool, but the client finally asked if someone had a crab boil in their backpack. I had to wipe my laptop with wet wipes in the parking garage before I could even drive home. Has anyone else had a food disaster wreck a workday like that?

Man, that is brutal. I gotta ask though, did you actually tell the client what happened, or did you just let them think you roll around town with week-old crawfish in your laptop bag? Because that’s a huge difference in how they’ll remember you. I feel like owning it with a joke might’ve saved the meeting, but wiping it down in a garage probably just made the whole car stink too. Did the sauce stain the keys, or were you able to get the smell out after a few days?
