The cashier at Kroger corrected my coupon math, she was dead right

Tbh I've been slicing produce wrong for years, cutting straight down instead of at an angle. Last Tuesday at the self checkout in Austin, this older lady saw me struggling with a mango and said 'you're fighting the pit, not the fruit.' She showed me the bias cut on a cucumber and it took me maybe 3 tries to get it right. Has anyone else had a random stranger fix a kitchen habit you didn't even know was broken?

Take the win and pass it on. Random grocery wisdom beats a cooking class most days. Now I just need someone to show me how to cut a pomegranate without wearing it.
