Appreciation post: using a library card to save on audiobooks

I was spending about $30 a month on Audible credits and it started to add up fast. A friend suggested I check out my local library's digital collection through the Libby app. Turns out, I can borrow audiobooks for free with just my library card number. I've saved over $120 in the last four months by switching. The only catch is sometimes you have to wait for popular titles, but there's plenty to listen to in the meantime. Has anyone else given up their paid subscriptions for the library route?

The only catch is sometimes you have to wait, like I'm still waiting for that book from 2019.

Your 2019 wait is rookie numbers compared to my pre-order curse. @gray_roberts I've got a board game I ordered in 2020 that still says 'fulfillment pending' like it's some kind of existential statement. Maybe it'll show up by the time my kids graduate high school. I mean, at this point I'm half convinced the shipping container it's in is just doing a victory lap around the Pacific.
